Today I read that Vattenfall let cut "accidently" more than 20 trees in the Domain's garden, http://www.lr-online.de/regionen/brandenburg/art25,849978.html although they promised not to touch their ground until there is a final judgement. http://www.welt.de/data/2004/08/30/325979.html I'm totally furious about this. >:-( If Vattenfall had any kind of honesty, they would (now) withdraw their claims on the land of the Domain's and other remaining land owners in Horno. But from what is known they will continue their ugly, psycho-terror game against the Horno citizens. This can only happen in a totalitarian dictatorship :-(

Your presentations of the Horno-problems can only be understood as those of a disappointed, unsatisfied former citizen of Horno. Dividing those personal feelings (that I wouldn't refrain as not of interest, but they should drive politics) from the legal and business driven facts shows, that 1) this issue is known to the people in the Horno region since decades, 2) they had been rewarded with really impressive replacements and 3) in Germany there's sometimes too much power to small local interest groups (referring also to Airbus Hamburg, BBI, etc.). Good to know, that in the end local authorities and Vattenfall have won this dispute! It's a good signal for germany as an international recognized market.

Complain to Vattenfall. Vattenfall is a company like all other companies. What do companies do? They make money. Complain to Vattenfall, not the Swedish goverment. I don't complain to Bush if I dislike Coca-Cola. Vattenfall is not an authority. It's a business. Nothing more, nothing less. Complain to the bosses there -- but don't forget Laubag bosses either. And maybe the German goverment. Or the EU.

on the twelfth anniversary of the day of german unity, it was great to see the unveiling of the brandenburger tor in all its spleandor yesterday (03.10.2002). in a spectacular action, willy bogner (the internationally famous designer) swooped across to the gate carried under a small balloon with the very distinctive name "vattenfall" written across it for the entire world to see (impressive the way the name was fixed in the direction of the camera) - very effective publicity indeed. present at the event was the world's media, many thousands of berlin citizens, and also several prominent people including the german president rau, chancellor schröder, and last but not least - ex-us-president bill clinton, who declared: "this gate has been a symbol for division - today it is a geniune symbol of unity!" (rough translation as he in fact said it in german). up until then, i had never heard of vattenfall - as i presume is true for many others - and wanted to find out more. and so i came to this site. very interesting reading. i wonder if bill clinton knew about it? or the rest of the people watching the event? this site looks like nothing has happened for some time, but now might be the time to update things... in any event, i wish you good luck and all the best. hopefully it will be possible to find an acceptable solution.

Ich bin erstaunt, dass die geplante Vernichtung der Lacomaer Teichgruppe mit über 150 Arten der Roten-Liste, die Vattenfall gerade plant, nicht auf dieser homepage ist! Falls Sie noch nicht darüber informiert sind, derzeit läuft ein Beschwerdeverfahren beider EU-Kommission wegen der Nichtmeldung der Laomaer Teichgruppe und Hammergraben als FFH-Gebiet. Es ist aufgrund der europaweiten Bedeutung des Gebietes für NATURA 2000 davon auszugehen, dass sich im Falle einer Planfeststellung durch das Oberbergamt des Landes Brandenburg der Europäische Gerichtshof der Angelegenheit widmen wird. Durch die Kontakte der NGO wird der Fall auch Thema im Europäischen Parlament werden.
